According to a press release from St. Johns County Sheriff spokesperson Kevin Kelshaw, four St. Johns County teenagers were arrested on charges of burglary and petit theft early this morning.

The four, identified as Andrew Matthews, 19, Samuel Powell, 18, Colton Feidler, 18, and Austin Lubis, 18, were all booked into the county jail.

According to the release, late Monday night residents in the 6500 block of Burnham Circle heard car doors opening and closing near their home and looked out the window. Witnesses observed two figures in the driveway and ran outside to investigate further. The two subjects they observed in the driveway fled to a nearby vehicle where two more subjects were spotted. All four then fled on foot and the witnesses called the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies spotted a vehicle with two male suspects at intersection of PGA Tour Blvd. and Cypress Bridge Drive. The passenger reportedly admitted to deputies that he was with three other males car hopping in the area. Deputies rounded up the other three suspects, who all reportedly admitted to the burglaries after questioning.

All were booked into the county jail. Property that was allegedly stolen from the vehicles was seized pending positive identification from the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
