'Birdies for the Brave' Tees off at TPC Sawgrass

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- First Coast News is on the golf course along with members of the military and members of the PGA Tour in an effort to raise money for wounded warriors.

The First Coast's annual PGA Tour stop, THE PLAYERS, is treating November as a month of giving back, and today is a Birdies for the Brave charity tournament.

Several professional golfers including local residents Vijay Singh, Jeff Klauk, and Frank Lickliter II joined FCN Sports Director Dan Hicken, Jacksonville Jaguars players Josh Scobee and Adam Podlesh as they teed up with professionals who wear different uniforms -- those of the United States military.

The course looks a bit different than in May, when the best field in golf tees up at the TPC.

For instance, the 16th hole, a long par 5, has a tank sitting in the middle of the fairway.
