Faces of the First Coast 2011 Go Red For Women Casting Call

The American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” movement is calling on women and men who live in the region to submit their heart health stories for the 2011 “Faces of the First Coast” casting call. If chosen, applicants will become representatives of the local public awareness campaign beginning in the spring of 2011. In addition, local winners will be eligible for submission to the American Heart Association’s national “Go Red For Women” casting call. Members of the “Faces of the First Coast” work to bring the dangers, signs and symptoms of cardiovascular disease to our community. They represent, exemplify and advocate for the mission of Go Red For Women through education and awareness.

Beards for Babies

For the fourth year in a row, St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar has allowed employees to sport beards with a donation of $50 each to the March of Dimes. The fundraiser will go through 31 January.
