The event is to be held at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club on Sept. 28, 2011. A dinner and silent auction will follow at The Outpost in Ponte Vedra. Art with a Heart in Healthcare is the only organization in Jacksonville dedicated exclusively to arts in healthcare for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Art with a Heart in Healthcare’s mission is to provide professionally guided personalized art experiences that enhance the healing process for patients and their families. Art with a Heart recently celebrated 10 years of providing arts in healthcare programming to more than 27,000 children, youth, and their families at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children's Clinic and The Ronald McDonald House. “We chose Art with a Heart in Healthcare because its mission aligns with ours, which is to support the efforts and services that nurture and protect the well being of family and community. We have witnessed first hand how the program benefits the individuals and families in our communities and also have learned how our funds will specifically aid in the continuation and hopefully, expansion of, such a beneficial program,” said Kathy Brady, executive director of The GATE Foundation. Since inception of the golf tournament, The GATE Foundation has donated more than $1 million to charitable organizations. “With this generous funding from The GATE Foundation, Art with a Heart in Healthcare will provide more healing art experiences with professional artists to patients and their families who are navigating significant health challenges,” said Tayloe White, executive director of Art With a Heart in Healthcare.
