Stellers Gallery at Ponte Vedra will display the new artwork of renowned fine art painters, Lois Simon and John Bunker. The exhibit opening will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm at 240 A1A North, Ste. 13 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Bunker has been a professional artist for more than 40 years. His work includes flowers that dance and diaphanous angels which soar through the vibrant paintings in rich, deep colors accented by metallic swirls and curlicues.
As a graduate of Florida State University, Bunker also holds an advanced degree form Vanderbilt University- Peabody College. He has an extensive and varied museum career which includes serving as the long term associate director and interim director of the Jacksonville Art Museum and the director of the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. Bunker is a graduate of both the Smithsonian Institute's Fundamentals of museum Management and the J.P. Getty's Museum Management Institute at the University of California at Berkeley.
He has also been an active volunteer in the Jacksonville community. He is the past president of the Riverside Fine Arts Association Concert Series Advisory Committee. He serves on the board of the JIA Arts Commission.
Bunker's art works are included in numerous museum, corporate, public and private collections in the United States and abroad. Several corporate collectors include: A T&T Universal Card, The Mayo Clinic, First Coast Oncology Center, Nordstroms, First Union Bank, Bank of America, North Florida College, Vistakon, The Florida Senate, Riverside House, Orlando Jetport, and the Timuquana Country Club, Stein Mart, The Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, and the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens- to name a few.
Lois Simon was born in Larchmont, N.Y. She graduated from Wells College and attended Parsons School of Design in New York City. She does landscapes and still life, painting rich in color, emphasizing the intensity of sunlight against deep patterns of shadows.
Simon worked as an artist in Pittsburg, PA and has exhibited at Carnegie Museum, The Pittsburg Center for the Arts, and has paintings in numerous private collections. Her works have been in solo exhibitions and received awards in many juried shows. In 1998, Simon moved to Ponte Vedra and found representation locally, and in other galleries around the country.
